2017

2017 has been a challenge. Wow this journey called life.  Our family has had some large hurdles this year. I'm so grateful we made it over them.  We are still very blessed, happy, & grateful.

I must admit I group text friends and family instead of keeping up my blog.
Colin is much older so I don't take as many photos of him or document as much of his life.

I believe I want to move towards a year in review digital scrapbook.  I love traditional scrapbook style. The reality is I can do a scrapbook page on my iPad Pro in minutes. I have nice photos editing software on it. Gone are the days of getting on my iMac to edit photos then send them off for printing. Getting the photos, picking the right paper, embellishment, and right title.

I'm going to post more often just for me and my 2 followers. I've missed my blog.

Sugar habit

2015 I decided to reduce my sugar intake. I finally reduced my sugar habit by the end of 2015.  It was so difficult to kick sugar.  I still work hard at it every day.
Jan 2016 I'm still on a low sugar diet & plan to be for the rest of my life.
I now buy many products like yogurt unsweetened and add my own natural sweetener.

I've been working on my weight & when 2015 ended I had lost almost 40 lbs.
Now to keep going & improve my health daily.

Happy Thanksgiving journaling for 2014 & 2015

Happy Thanksgiving 2015
We had dinner catered. I like simple holidays. I don't subscribe to the commercial version of what a holiday should be. I work full time & have a heavy load everyday. An insane amount of cooking and cleaning while others sit around watching football does not work for me.
I want to enjoy the day too.

We went to a restaurant Thanksgiving 2014 & it rocked!! The restaurant we choose was very busy; we chose a different restaurant. They did not have the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It was still awesome. We sat down ordered was served ate & left. We had a great conversation and visit.
All of the girls  headed to a movie. The guys went home to watch football.

PL project life SMW

Scrapbooking is one of my passions!  I love to create. I love to sew. I love to craft. Crafting for me includes, drawing, sketching, painting, crochet, quilling, paper making, card making, stamping, embossing, glass etching, bead making, beading, jewelry making, decorating, repurpose, reuse, recycle, up cycle……..

Back to scrapbooking. I have scrapbooked in one form or another for 35 years. I was rubber stamping before it was popular back in 1990- Yeah for me. Somebody give me a GFSF cookie please. (GF=gluten free, SF=soy free)

Project Life=PL Becky Higgins has struck gold.  First with her sketches & sketch books now with PL.
The first sketch book I bought was hers many years ago. It's still to this day one of my favorites.
I love PL & Becky. I have bought some of her PL protectors & PL digital kits. I've downloaded many of her PL digital freebies too.

I wish I had the energy to scrap every day of our lives for  1 yr. I'm so many years behind.
I'm using the PL format to finish up my pages as fast as I can.  No longer do I care if a page of my layout is a work of art. I will if the mood hit take a while do a page.  I think the days of me spending 2 hours on a scrapbook page title are long gone.   I'm really into SMW. I don't think there should be rules in my personal scrapbook pages other than to get the photos on the page. Get pages in albums.

Happy New Year 2014

Happy New Year
I love the beginning of the year.  A fresh start.  The truth is we can make a fresh start anytime or any day.
When 2014 come to a close. I hope I've put myself closer to the top of the priority list. Especially improving my health.  Making more conscious choices of how I treat my body & my whole self.
Embracing everyday with gratitude & purpose.  To enjoy my wonderful family daily. To learn to not hate house work.  To truly understand I'm teaching my son life lessons with my actions.  Have a warm welcoming beautiful.  Not a picture perfect home but a home that is inviting & fun.  I want visitors to our home to comfortable & special.

I want to entertain more often inside our home.  Begin the process of transforming our backyard.  Build in the covered patio.  See the heart & soul of people.  Ignore the outside package. Enjoy my journey.  Learn from every aspect; the health issues should teach me their are others in worse pain with no hope.

What do I want in the decades to come? What do I want in the year to come? What do I want in the month to come?  What do I want in the week to come? What do I want in the day to come? What do I want in the hour to come?  What do I want in the moment to come?

To fulfill my souls desires!  To really live my way & to be OK with everyone not embracing my choices.
